ANNUAL STOCKDOG TRIALS IN NORTH AMERICA
There are a growing number of trials in the North America that are held at the same time, in the same place every year. This page is an attempt to put together a list of these trials with a description of them that will hopefully aid potential spectators and competitors alike in determining which they would like to go to. A similar collection has been put together for the U.K. and is contained in the book A Guide to Sheepdog Trials in Britain and Ireland Available in the U.S. through Diamond Farm Book Publishers.
The criteria for being contained in this list are:
 | The trial must have been held for at least the past 3 years. |
| The trial must be held the same weekend each year. |
| The trial must be held in the same place each year. |
| The trial should have the same contact person each year. |

Details: The trial is held in a large alfalfa field that rolls just a little. The
sheep are quite even and are not particularly wild or dog broke. Many people attend this
trial and then continue on up to Meeker. The majority of competitors camp in a field
adjacent to the trial field as the motels are not very close and there is a big motorcycle
convention in the area the same weekend. The trial is well run and is well worth attending
if just for the camaraderie brought on by everyone camping together.

Details: One of the premier trials in the U.S. bringing together competitors from all over the country. There is always a big crowd of spectators. The sheep can be quite difficult to control but the field is quite flat. Some consider this the most prestigious single event in the country.
