Welcome to The Stock Dog Server. The purpose of this web site is to gather together in one place as much information about herding dogs and as many links to herding related information as possible. Thus if there is an "official" or comprehensive list of trails, organizations etc. then we would point to that list instead of trying to duplicate it. Where no such resource exists or where we find it incomplete or lacking then we will do our best to incorporate it into this site. What we hope to accomplish is that we can be your one stop source for information related to herding dogs.
The server is divided into four major sections; general information, information about herding competitions, training information and the popular Dog Finder section. As always we have a list describing the sections. We are working on breed specific sections for some of the breeds that have extensive resources available.
For those of you new to herding dogs we recommend you start by reading the introduction to stock dogs. The list of herding breeds, the information on vendors that supply herding related materials and the livestock related resources are also good areas of the server to check out. HERDING E-MAIL LISTS
Most
of the herding related e-mail lists are now part of
Yahoo Groups. To subscribe to them
sign into Yahoo groups and use the find group feature and type "herding" into
the search box. The largest and most general lists are shown below
